Hi all!

Today’s photo is of our downstairs bathroom. Can you see anything that stands out? Yes, my family cannot seem to put the new toilet paper rolls on the holder, nor put the extra rolls in their place. I don’t understand why. But I just have to laugh. I love them anyways!

So today is the third day of the election and reactions have been pretty strong, especially from the blue side. I’ve been thinking about it a lot too, and I have some thoughts I’d like to share.

I’m not very political, and I don’t blindly identify with a particular party. My views, though, tend to match with the Democrats on social issues, but I have a general distrust of most politicians. (Except Al Franken.) However, this year’s election to me was all about personal character and not about policies. I cannot understand how one could vote for someone who is a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic, lying bully. I wouldn’t be able to accept such a person as a teacher or school principal, let alone the highest office in the land. I feel like by voting for this kind of person, you are validating that kind of behavior. Already we are seeing more incidents of blatant racism around the country, and even in our classrooms! It’s sad… and frightening. It would infuriate me if my kids had to deal with that! Thankfully, there haven’t been any incidents at their schools.

I heard San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich the other day, and he very succinctly sums up what I feel. Please have a listen.

Alright, that’s enough for now. I hope I won’t feel the need to mention the election anymore, but I’m sure the coming presidency will be filled with issues that will be worth talking about.

Take care!
