“Cracked Windshield” Waco, 2019

Oh no! While taking Koa and his friend to his next Band Camp in Waco, a large rock hit the hood and windshield of my car. It was really scary! There was a car on the onramp ahead of us, and I think it kicked up the rock and propelled it at us at great speed. The sound was crazy and we were kind of in shock. Luckily, we were preparing to exit the highway and traffic was moving at only 35 mph so the damage wasn’t as bad as it could have been. But had the windshield not been there, I probably would have been killed… which makes me think that had I been on my motorcycle, I would have been severely injured.

So, instead of thinking that I had bad luck to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, I like to think that I was fortunate to have had the protection of a strong windshield and wasn’t traveling too fast. It’s still a bummer, but in the grand scheme of things, I cannot complain.

I hope you had a good day!

  1. Glad you’re both safe. The same thing happened to me a few months ago, but it hit the metal frame to the right of the windshield. It left a huge dent there and chipped away the paint down to the raw metal. I can’t imagine what the glass would look like.
