Piplup (my Brompton C-Line folding bike) and I hit the Brushy Creek Regional Trail today. It’s one of my favorite spots for both cycling and running, and today did not disappoint. The water looked gorgeous, and the air had that perfect warm feeling that makes you want to stay out longer than you planned.

I did spot a few bluebonnets along the way, but they were looking a little rough, so I left the camera alone. I’m not sure if they’re just getting started or already on their way out. I guess I’ll have to go back and check!

This afternoon I hopped on my Brompton for a little ride. It’s been two and a half years since I bought my C-Line, and I’m still completely in love with it. Riding this bike just feels different in the best way. Compared to a “regular” bike, it’s compact, nimble, and easy to hop on and off. Honestly, it reminds me of the difference between a scooter (or step-thru motorbike) and a motorcycle. Both are fun, but the smaller one has this playful, almost magical charm that always makes me smile.

We stuck to one of our usual trails, but took a short detour to check out the disc golf course. In the photo above, you can just barely spot the basket in the distance. Here’s a closer look:

I had the day off today, so Piplup and I went for a long ride along our usual route on Brushy Creek Regional Trail. The cooler morning air made it extra nice before the heat set in. On the way back, I spotted a sign that made me laugh – I have to imagine the person who wrote it was chuckling too!

It’s been a while since Piplup and I went for a ride! I wasn’t in the mood for running today but still wanted to get outside, so I aired up Piplup’s tires, filled a water bottle, and we set off. It was just a neighborhood ride, yet it was still a lot of fun. Bicycles really are such wonderful machines! And just look at those clouds!

Today, Piplup and I took a leisurely bike ride around the neighborhood. I wanted to get some fresh air and expose my skin to a little bit of UV light, which is supposed to be beneficial for pityriasis rosea. Plus, I’ve been feeling a bit out of shape lately, so the exercise was definitely welcome!

It’s late October and the temperatures are still hovering around 90° F here in Texas. But at least the clouds are getting more beautiful!

Piplup and I braved the 99°F heat and went on a 17 mile ride. Lots of fun! I finished a liter of water on this one. I should bring more next time.
