My Fujifilm X-E4 is back in my hands! The repair facility wanted around $750 to fix it, which felt like too much, so I passed on the service. So far though, it’s powering on and working just fine. Fingers crossed I can get many more shots out of it before it gives up on me again. And at least I still have my trusty old X-T10 as a backup.

I went for another afternoon osanpo after wrapping up work for the day. There’s just so much here in Japan that catches my eye and makes me want to pull out my camera!

I’ve realized I kind of gauge how much I like a place by how many photos I end up taking. The more shots, the more I’m loving it.

After work today, I went for an osanpo (walk) around the neighborhood. It’s so fun to explore and snap photos! The highlight was definitely visiting the small castle and hiking up to the little shrines tucked away in the hills above town. Tatsuno is such a charming place!

Mariko gifted me a new camera today! It is a tiny Kodak Charmera digital camera, and I love it already.

The camera produces really lo-res images, and you can apply different filters and frames, which makes shooting with it a lot of fun. It takes photos, records video, and somehow also manages to be a keychain at the same time.

Not only is it adorable, but it feels like the kind of camera you can carry everywhere without even thinking about it. How cool is that?

I lined up my two DJI Osmo Action 4 cameras today for today’s photo. They have been great for my motorcycle videos, even though I really only need one. I bought the second one during a huge sale because I thought it would be cool to try a three-camera setup on the bike. Turns out that is a bit too complicated for me. Maybe I should sell one. I am still thinking about it!

For now, my favorite combo is the DJI Osmo Action 4 for the main POV shot and the Insta360 X3 for the selfie and 360 view. That pairing feels just right.

I pulled out a bunch of my old film gear, thinking I’d finally donate or sell it. Of course, I haven’t actually done that yet, so now it’s all just hanging out on my desk like a little museum of procrastination. Maybe I should just tuck it all away… until the next “decluttering” mood hits.

This afternoon we visited Pearl in San Antonio. It’s such a cool spot with a great mix of restaurants, a brewery, shops, a hotel, and the fantastic Pullman Market. You could easily spend a few hours here just strolling around and taking it all in.

Since we were there at about 5 pm on a Sunday, most of the stores were closing shop, but that just means we’ll have to arrive at an earlier time the next visit!

We enjoyed ramen today at Hironori in Tustin. Having heard about this small ramen chain before, I was excited to try it. The tonkotsu ramen was excellent – highly recommended!
