My Fujifilm X-E4 is back in my hands! The repair facility wanted around $750 to fix it, which felt like too much, so I passed on the service. So far though, it’s powering on and working just fine. Fingers crossed I can get many more shots out of it before it gives up on me again. And at least I still have my trusty old X-T10 as a backup.

Mariko baked a beautiful loaf of shokupan today. Japanese milk bread is honestly perfect for just about anything. Sandwiches, avocado toast, or even just a plain slice by itself. And the house smells incredible right now!

Pizza, pasta, and green salad for dinner tonight. You really can’t go wrong with that combination. A classic is a classic!

Today we made our way back home to Texas. Our route took us through Chicago first, and we got to fly over Lake Michigan for a bit. The water was this gorgeous emerald color – I had to do a double take! Honestly, it could have passed for the Caribbean. Nobody tell the tourists.

I spotted this pristine VW Beetle while walking around downtown Dayton today. It looked great sitting there next to all those classic buildings. They were a perfect match!

Today was semi-finals for the WGI championships, and it was our first time seeing Koa perform his show with Broken City. It was fantastic! I really enjoyed it, and honestly, all those kids are so talented. They should all be very proud.

I finished another Morning Pages notebook, and honestly, it feels like a small victory!

One of my long-term goals is to actually use the notebooks I’ve collected over the years. If you’re a stationery lover, you know the struggle. Beautiful notebooks everywhere, and somehow they just accumulate. My daily morning journaling practice has been the perfect way to work through them, one page at a time. It’s actually fun to see how many blank pages are left (and see the amount getting smaller).

This particular Rollbahn notebook was a good one. It served me well through a lot of mornings, and I’m saving the cover as a keepsake. Do you do that? Save little artifacts from journals you’ve finished? I love looking back at them. This notebook is special because Mariko bought it for me when she was in Japan.

Now I’m moving right into the next one, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s another Rollbahn that Mariko gifted to me!

We flew out to Dayton, Ohio today for the WGI Finals to watch Koa perform. This is his last season of competitive percussion — he’s aging out, so this one feels a little extra special. We make it to Finals every year to cheer him on, and this time is no different. I hope he soaks up every moment of these last few shows!

Tonight Bay and I ordered burgers. We usually hit up In-N-Out, but this time we went with P. Terry’s, a local chain here in the Austin area. I really like their burgers, and honestly their fries edge out In-N-Out’s for me. Not that I have anything against In-N-Out’s fries either. I like those too. Just a slight nod to P. Terry’s on that front.
