I went to Costco today to stock up on supplies before the freezing weather hits tomorrow. It was packed, with the checkout line stretching the length of the store and then some. Thankfully it moved fast, and everyone was in surprisingly good spirits. The only disappointment was striking out on the honey-roasted nuts my mother-in-law loves. I may have to return in a few days, once the weather panic settles down, and do a more thorough nut hunt.

I stopped by Costco this evening and took my time wandering the aisles. There’s something really satisfying about shopping with no rush at all. Do you ever notice how much more enjoyable Costco is when you are not on a mission? I loved every minute of it.

Ramyun was on my list, and I was really hoping they still had the K-POP Demon Hunters packaging. After a bit of searching, I finally spotted the instant noodles with that cool design, though the stock was clearly running low. Whew. Crisis officially averted!

Bay’s two favorite frozen foods are these chimichangas and taquitos, and it is great that they are now right next to each other at our local Costco. I have not had a taquito in a while, but these are made with flour tortillas, and since I am cutting down on gluten, I think I will avoid them for now. Still, I thought taquitos were usually made with corn tortillas and flautas were the ones made with flour. Hmmmm.

For dinner tonight, we enjoyed soba and tempura. The tempura was bought from Costco and it’s surprisingly good! I highly recommend it. It’s so easy to prepare too: just defrost and heat up in the microwave, then pop into the toaster oven to crisp up. Simple and delicious.

Well, it’s actually nitrogen, but it’s great. I think this was a new addition to our local Costco as I had never seen it before. It’s really easy to use and you can fill up your tires to the correct pressure in just a couple of minutes. First, remove all four of the little inflation valve covers on your tires, then select your desired tire pressure on the machine. If your tires are hot, they suggest adding 4 psi to the recommended pressure. Then go to each tire and press the nozzle securely onto the valve and release the locking sleeve. The machine will add or remove nitrogen to the exact pressure you selected. It just takes a few seconds per tire.
