My semi-workcation is ending… until next time, Maui!

After work today, we visited Waikulu Distillery in Makawao for an agave spirit tasting. It was such a fun and educational experience! We were surprised by the variety of agave spirits (Tequila) they offered. One variety stood out as our favorite, so we picked up a bottle to bring back home to Texas.

Later, we caught a breathtaking sunset at Kamaole Beach Park II, followed by dinner at the local food truck park. I tried the loco moco poutine from Howzit Eh!, and it was absolutely delicious – and super filling!

I spent the morning and early afternoon working remotely from the house. I wake up at around 4:45 am in order to keep my Central US time for work, and then end my work day at around 2 pm. That gives me the afternoon to enjoy the island!

Today we stopped by ʻIao Valley for a little while to relax and take photos. I enjoy my work-cations from Maui very much!

This evening we stopped by the food trucks across the street from Costco here on Maui. We’ve been here before, so we knew we would enjoy! The shrimp is from Geste Shrimp Truck, and the steak is from Ono Teppanyaki & Seafood. Recommended!

Mariko and I started a mini work-cation on Maui today, while my mom, brother, and sister-in-law started their vacation. It’s beautiful here.

For our first meal, we picked up some Ichiban Okazuya. We had Korean chicken, teriyaki beef, mahi mahi, and pork katsu plates. Everything was so tasty and filling. It’s actually enough for another meal! Oishikatta

We stop by ʻĪao Valley every time we come to Maui. It’s such a pretty valley to visit, with lots of good memories for me.

As craft beer lovers, Mahalo Aleworks is a Maui must-visit. Their beers are fantastic, and enjoying one on their small upstairs balcony is the perfect way to end the day. Just look at the view!

We celebrated Mariko’s birthday today by enjoying a wonderful dinner with a view. It was beautiful! And there were so many whales off-shore so we had dinner and a show. 😀 The sunset didn’t disappoint either. Ah paradise…

Today we switched islands to Maui, where we’ll stay til the weekend. It’s a work-cation for me, and I’ll be waking up early to be on the same schedule as back in Texas. More or less. 😆

Today was our last day on Maui, but since we were taking the red-eye flight in the late afternoon, we had some time to do a few last-minute things. That included lunch at the Ono Teppanyaki and Seafood truck, followed by a quick visit to Kanaha Beach. The shrimp and ahi were delicious, and the beach was lovely. I wish we had enough time to go for a swim, but we’ll have to do that next time.
