“Cloud” Cedar Park, 2025
The lunchtime run is so much nicer when there are pretty clouds drifting by. They make the sky look beautiful and give a little break from the harsh sun too!

Our new fridge arrived today, and it’s fantastic! The design is sleek and well thought out, and the ice-maker looks much simpler – fingers crossed it stays trouble-free. I’m really looking forward to many years of cold drinks and neatly organized shelves with this one!

We finally ordered a new refrigerator to replace our old Frigidaire. The old one still runs, but it’s definitely showing its age. One drawer is broken, a shelf wobbles because of a cracked bracket, and the ice-maker water line has started dripping, which means I have to chip away frozen puddles every couple of days.
And don’t even get me started on the ice dispenser. About a quarter of the time, the ice would jam, keeping the lever pressed down so even more ice piled up. Then you’d have to break it loose, and suddenly – avalanche! I’ve spent way too much time chasing runaway ice cubes across the kitchen floor. Other times, I’d be waiting patiently for one cube to come out, only to have a full load tumble out all at once, causing more ice on the floor.
So yes, I’m more than ready to say goodbye to this fridge. Just a couple more days until the new one arrives!

We had a delicious grilled saba (mackerel) dinner tonight! To keep the house from smelling like fish, we fired up our little portable stove outside. This handy stove runs on a small fuel canister and is the same one we use for yakiniku right at the dinner table. We’ve even taken it camping! It’s one of those gadgets that just makes everything easier, and dinner a lot more fun.
