My BMW F650GS “Kiki” is back home! I had to get the fuel pump replaced, and the fuel system cleaned which took a few months, but she’s back. I went for a little spin and I really need to perform a bit of maintenance on her. Specifically some new brake fluid! The brakes feel a bit spongy, which isn’t a good thing. And then I should probably do an oil change while I’m at it. And clean/lube the chain. But those things are pretty fun to do, actually. Gotta give Kiki a bit of love! 😘

My poor motorcycle won’t start up. I suspect it’s the fuel pump that has failed but I’m going to have it taken to a repair shop. I hope she gets back to good health soon! 🙁

Today is the last day of Spring, but it sure seems like Summer is in full swing already! The temperatures are hovering in the mid-90s, but I really wanted to go for a ride so I donned my helmet and riding gear and went for a spin around town. Boy oh boy was it toasty! But of course, riding a motorcycle is so much fun that I didn’t mind it too much. But when I got back home I quickly took off my helmet and jacket so I wouldn’t make them all sweaty.
I haven’t ridden my motorcycle in a while (the desire comes in cycles) so the registration has expired… I guess I should get that taken care of, right? Oh well, in the meantime I’ll just be riding dirty. 😁

こんばんは。How’s it going?
We were fortunate again today to have some amazing weather, so I took advantage of it by taking Kiki (my motorbike) out for a ride. I was able to wear my summer jacket and gloves which is really comfy and makes riding a lot nicer. Riding a motorbike is really fun because you can just cruise around and be part of the environment. Not only can you see more, but you get the sensations of gusty wind, temperature changes, and different scents (good and bad) that are missing when you are traveling by car.
My motorcycle is relatively slow, but it still provides a thrilling sensation of speed. I’d say riding a motorcycle is like sitting on top of a rocket, skimming just above the ground, whereas driving a car is like being strapped into an easy chair, playing a video game. I’ve said it before, but if you have the opportunity to get a motorbike, I recommend it!! 👍
One other cool thing about riding is that when you are traveling on 30-mph neighborhood streets, people walking along the sidewalks will generally wave at you. It may seem like a small gesture, but I love it. 👋

こんにちは。How’s it going?
Today the sun was shining and the weather was perfect for a motorbike ride. Whenever I get on my F650 GS, I remember the long journeys I took, especially my two day trip through Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. It is so fun to eat up the miles riding on top of two wheels! And hitting the state line is kind of a thrill, especially because we live in the center of Texas and the border is a good 8 hours in any direction.
Today’s ride was just around the town where we live, but it’s always fun to experience that bit of freedom and speed that a motorcycle provides. It’s a wonderful way to feel truly alive. 😊

こんばんは。How’s it going?
Today I was rearranging things in the garage in order to get the Christmas decorations out and I had my motorcycle “Kiki” parked where we usually have the Prius. It looked so nice and the weather was perfect, so of course, I had to go out for a ride. It felt so great to be out in the warm Texas breeze (it was in the high 70s today) flying along.
These days I enjoy driving the Crosstrek, which is so much more fun than the Odyssey was, but the motorcycle is light years ahead of both. The acceleration, view, contact with the elements, and lean angle are amazing sensations that a car just cannot give. I know there are many cars that are faster than my motorbike (which is not that quick compared to a sport bike), but a quick 0-60 while strapped into a chair that is enclosed in a cage just can’t be the same as sitting on top of a hot engine, zooming in mid-air, while the world leans to the side. For adrenaline and fun, a motorcycle is the way to go. For comfort, convenience, and practicality? A car for sure. I love them both!

こんばんは。How’s it going?
Wednesdays I usually work from home, and lunch break on these days means going for a ride on my motorbike. It’s so fun to ride my 650 GS because it is pretty nimble bike so making quick turns while simply navigating the traffic circles is a blast. It feels like I’m carving through the chicanes at CotA! Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration, but not by much. 😆
By the way, I have a motorbike blog too in case you are interested. I’d be happy if you bookmarked Motofuji.net and checked it out sometime!
Hope you had a nice Wednesday!
