I took Kiki out for a ride on Easter Sunday through Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs. 🏍️ There was no traffic, which made the twisty hill country roads even better. Rain was threatening the whole time and eventually caught up with me halfway through, and it was pretty chilly, but honestly it was still a great ride. It’s hard to beat the Texas Hill Country on a Sunday!
Race day at Circuit of the Americas! I was rooting for Japanese racer, Ai Ogura, and he was working his way up to 4th before mechanical issues took him out. Tough break. 😔
But he did set the MotoGP lap record at Circuit of the Americas with a time of 2:02.037, so the day wasn’t a total loss. Hopefully he finds his way onto the podium before the season’s out. That would be pretty cool to see!
We spent the day at Circuit of the Americas watching Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP. Seeing – and hearing – the world’s best riders fly around the track never gets old. What a day. 🏍️
New battery in, and Kiki fired right up. All is right in the world. 😄
Kiki’s battery gave up after just one year. That might be a record for me. 🪫
It turns out the distilled water had evaporated, which damaged the cells. My theory is that the shop never properly activated it with electrolyte when I bought it, but who knows. Either way, the new battery comes tomorrow.
This time I’m topping it up myself and setting a monthly reminder to check the water level. Fingers crossed this one lasts a little longer!
My buddy and I hit up a couple of motorcycle shops today just to look around. I spotted a Triumph Trident 660 Tribute Edition and had to snap a photo for my son. We just had a little conversation about “6-7” recently, so I figured he’d get a kick out of it. 😄
I also sat on my future bike, the Triumph Speed 900. There’s a 2025 model sitting there for $10,893 out the door, which is pretty tempting. But life with Kiki is still great, so for now I’ll just keep dreaming. 🏍️
Today was a perfect 75-degree day here in Austin, so Kiki and I took a relaxing ride around the neighborhood. Tomorrow the temperatures drop into the 40s, so I am glad I made the most of today’s beautiful weather.
