“Gyoza” Cedar Park, 2023
The purple color of the filling is because we’re using some purple cabbage. Was pretty good!

Tonight I saw The Boy and the Heron with my friend Mikey. I thought the movie was okay… the story was hard to follow and there were too many birds. But I thought the artwork of the environment was incredible! I’ll probably watch it one more time before deciding how much I enjoyed it, but since it is a Ghibli movie, it’s a definite must-see!
FYI, the photo above is from the Alamo Drafthouse pre-movie content.
I brought all our pepper plants inside when the overnight temperatures started dropping into the 40s F and now they are almost ready to harvest! I was a little sad that I had spent so much time all year caring for them only to have the heat and cold deny us a harvest, but it looks like we’ll get to enjoy a few peppers at least. Yay!
I’m still enjoying writing my morning pages every day. I’m about halfway through this notebook (it’s a thick one from Daiso) and I have been using Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun “Winter Shogun” ink in my Lamy Safari broad nib fountain pen. It’s a light cool grey color and so beautiful. Highly recommended!
An hour of fishing at the local pond is a perfect way to unwind and relax. And bicycling there is a nice bonus! Too bad I only got one bite and no fish… I think the fish are less active now that it’s getting colder. Oh well, still fun!
