Just a couple food snapshots today. The first is of some beautiful bread, but one of them collapsed a bit so won’t be sold. But I’m sure it will be perfect for school lunchbox sandwiches for Koa.
And the other snapshot is of my dinner. Always a treat to get burgers from In N Out!

Today’s snapshot is of the movie-viewing we’ve been doing lately: Star Wars. Getting ready for the final installment of the Skywalker saga, the kids have been re-freshening their memories of all the old movies, and Episode V was on our list today.
The Empire Strikes Back is such an awesome movie, and the one that was enhanced appropriately by the newer special effects technology. The scenes in cloud city were very well-done and didn’t look forced, unlike Episode IV’s Mos Eisley enhancements or Episode VI’s Jabba’s palace dance sequence. In addition, the new dialog between Darth Vader and the “new” Emperor was seamless.
Anyways, we’re just about caught up and ready for Episode IX!

Anko is a bit too bulky to safely jump up to the counter, so we have a footstool set up so she doesn’t hurt herself. Which is good because she loves to sip from the faucet… always thirsty it seems!

Mariko bought a few dozen (did she say six-dozen?) tamales the other day so we had quite a big feast. Along with the barbacoa and puerco tamales, Mariko made a huge salad which made for a wonderful dinner. And the margaritas weren’t bad either. 😄
