While watching Long Way Home, I noticed that both Charley and Ewan were wearing analogue watches. Curious, I did a quick search online and found out that Ewan was wearing a simple Timex Expedition. That was all the encouragement I needed to finally buy the Timex Expedition Scout I had been eyeing for a while.

The 40 mm size fits my 6 3/4 inch wrist perfectly, and the brass case gives it a nice, weighty feel. The genuine leather band is also surprisingly good quality and pairs well with the classic, military-style design. And the best part? It only cost $42 in the U.S. What’s not to like?

This afternoon we visited Pearl in San Antonio. It’s such a cool spot with a great mix of restaurants, a brewery, shops, a hotel, and the fantastic Pullman Market. You could easily spend a few hours here just strolling around and taking it all in.

Since we were there at about 5 pm on a Sunday, most of the stores were closing shop, but that just means we’ll have to arrive at an earlier time the next visit!
