“Work Lunch” Austin, 2025
I really enjoyed today’s lunch at the office: gyro, shawarma, falafel, hummus, and fries. And there were salad greens underneath all of that, I promise!

We took our houseguests to Rudy’s this evening for some BBQ. While it may not be as celebrated as Austin’s barbecue giants like Franklin, Interstellar, or Blacks, Rudy’s delivers consistently solid BBQ, and the best part? No waiting! The fatty brisket, baby-back ribs, and jalapeño sausage were a hit with everyone.
For a while, I was plagued by persistent connection problems with my Blue Yeti microphone. It was incredibly frustrating. After troubleshooting endlessly, I decided to try a different microphone: the Fifine AM8.
I’ve been using the Fifine AM8 for about a month now, and I’m happy to report that I haven’t encountered a single connection issue. This alone has been a huge improvement!
Beyond its reliability, I also prefer the Fifine AM8’s form factor. It’s more streamlined and takes up less desk space compared to the bulkier Blue Yeti. Plus, the Fifine AM8 has a customizable LED ring, which adds a cool aesthetic touch to my setup.
Overall, the Fifine AM8 has been a fantastic replacement for my Blue Yeti. It’s reliable, has a great design, and offers some nice extra features. If you’re looking for a new microphone, I definitely recommend giving the Fifine AM8 a try!
Lately, I’ve been enjoying going for walks in the neighborhood while listening to audiobooks. It’s so relaxing and fun. Highly recommend! And I also can recommend Shokz headphones. They are really comfy and safe for running/walking since they don’t block your ear canal, so you can hear traffic and other potential hazards.
