こんばんは。How’s it going?

Today we woke up to several inches of snowfall here in Central Texas as well as to a bitter cold. Because of the latter, we’ve been experiencing electrical outages throughout the state. That caused my work to cancel several of today’s meetings. Thankfully, our house hasn’t been affected by the blackouts, but it seems like all my friends have. I hope our good luck continues through the night. (fingers crossed)

The snow was actually kind of fun to experience! Lani had a few moments of confusion this morning when I let her out to do her business. She didn’t know where the lawn was, so I put on my boots and walked down the stairs to the grass, and then she got enough courage to find a place to pee. 😅

During my lunchbreak I bundled up and went for a little walk toward the mailbox and back. There was so much snow on the ground and lots of kids were having snowball fights. Surprisingly, there were no snowmen, even though there was a ton of snow to work with. I think it was just too cold! (19°F / -7°C) I recorded my walk using my GoPro, and you can see the video at the bottom of the post. Enjoy, and stay warm!

A rare snowstorm arrived in the morning and covered the area with a few inches of fluffy white powder. It was amazing! The photo above is the view from our bedroom window. What a way to wake up. 😊

I went for a couple of walks and bicycle rides around the neighborhood to look at the snowmen and I saw plenty of snowball fights. It was so fun!

Mariko made this little snowman on our deck using some peppers and sunflower seeds:

And this is how much accumulation there was:

Towards the end of the day I hopped on my bicycle again to take some photos of the neighborhood snowmen. There were some pretty good ones. Take a look! ⛄

こんばんは。How’s it going?

Well, the cold weather continued today, but I wasn’t expecting to get any snow. ❄️ It was just 81° F the other day, for goodness sakes! But snow it did, and it was actually pretty fun. When I went to pick up Koa from school at 5:30 pm, there were only a few snowflakes falling, but on the way to get dinner, the snow was coming down a lot harder.

Obviously, this being Texas, the snow is not as serious as up north, however, it was a bit more challenging to drive in since we’re not used to all these particles floating down. 🌨️

Lani also seemed to enjoy the weather. 🐕 As you can see in the top photo, the snow didn’t slow her down at all. She’s leaping over the stairs like she always does… full speed!

Lastly, I couldn’t resist getting a photo of my Subaru with a light dusting of snow on her. 😁 Cool huh!
