I received another birthday present, this time from my brother. The Casio W800H-1AV watch is a model that he has had for a while now, and I put it on my wishlist after seeing his last year in China. So I was really surprised because I was chatting with him about his watch just the other day, and lo and behold, a package containing new Casio arrived at my doorstep!
The Casio W800H-1AV is really comfortable and light, with an easy-to-read display and a 10-year battery. It’s a great watch for sporting activities like running and biking, and has a 100 M water-resistance rating. A good all-around watch, and a great addition to my small collection of watches.
Due to a wrist injury, I’ve had to wear my watches on my right wrist, which has been a weird experience. But lately my wrist has improved so that I can wear my watches (loosely) on my left wrist and it feels so much more natural! And I am wearing them on the inside of my wrist, which is more comfortable and the way I wore them when I was younger. I sometimes wear it on the outside but my wrist will get sore after a while, so inside it is.
It’s a little silly, but I feel like I’ve completed some sort of achievement by wearing watches in all four positions. Do I get a medal for that? At any rate, I’ve learned that for me, the left wrist (standard for right-handed people) and on the inside (military-style) is best.
Mariko got this cool Moomin watch with a Japanese magazine. It’s cheap but cute! Mariko doesn’t wear watches very often but I remember when we first met she had a cool Alba Spoon watch and also a cute Casio Baby-G. Sometimes she wore a small silver Seiko, but I have no idea if she still has that or not. But she loves Moomin characters, so I’m anticipating that the Littly My watch will get plenty of wrist time. 😊
I was looking at this Casio “Royale” in my wishlist (as I often do), and I noticed the display says “PARTY” on it! I guess it’s really “Paris”, T-4, but it cannot be a coincidence that Casio used that setting for the photo. 😆
I saw these lovely Seikos in the case at Macy’s today. The blue watch in the front is kind of my dream watch. It’s a new “Save the Ocean” turtle. I love it! Maybe someday… but for now, I’ll continue to enjoy my SKX007. Speaking of the SKX, the big news is that Seiko has discontinued the model. It’s had a very long run, being introduced in 1996, but it’s finally time to move on. The replacement seems to be the new Seiko 5 Sports series of watches. The cases look just like the SKX, but they come in a variety of colors. However, they do not have the dive specification so they are a little less capable, but still not many actually take the dive watches scuba diving (dive computers are more useful).
If you haven’t seen it yet, I made a little time-lapse of my watches. 😆 Enjoy!
I hope you had a nice day!
My camera & photos
I use a Fujifilm X-series camera for most of the photos on this site and my Instagram. Why not pick one up for yourself?
