On today’s run, I couldn’t help but notice the cool, rippled pattern of these altocumulus clouds overhead. I stopped to snap the photo above, totally taken in by how textured and almost endless the sky looked.

Then I turned around and saw a dramatically different sky in the opposite direction. Same run, same moment, completely different feeling. How cool is that? Have you ever noticed how the sky can feel like two different worlds just by turning around?

We started 2026 off on the right foot with a yummy osechi feast, followed by an afternoon run around the neighborhood. It felt like the perfect way to begin the year, good food and a little movement to balance it all out.

I went for an afternoon run around my childhood neighborhood today. I passed by my old elementary school and looped through the park I used to walk through every weekday. It was incredibly nostalgic, and I loved every minute of it.

I’ve been going out for runs more often lately, and it’s been really great. The weather has been beautiful, too. Today, we had some lovely cloud formations that eventually turned into a big storm later in the evening. Fortunately, our property wasn’t damaged, but the storm was definitely intense!
