“Airport Snapshot” Austin, 2021
I dropped Mariko off at the airport today. She’s got her vaccination + booster so I’m not too worried about her traveling on the plane. I guess things are getting back to “normal”?

Tomorrow, Mariko is flying up to Indianapolis to watch Koa’s marching band perform in the Bands of America Grand Nationals. Since I’ll be home alone for a couple of nights, she made a big pot of beef curry so that I don’t starve. 😀
It’s so delicious! ❤🍛

At tonight’s marching band competition, all the bands took part in a “full retreat”, in which everyone goes onto the field for the awards. It was really cool to see because we haven’t seen it in a while due to the pandemic. It’s a really cool moment when all 12 bands “break rank” and go crazy and congratulate each other. Pretty much everyone swarms first place band. So fun!

This evening I watched the Vietnamese movie Dreamy Eyes on Netflix. It was very interesting to watch the love story unfold against the backdrop of Vietnam in the 70s. The landscape (and even cityscape) in the movie is beautiful. I enjoyed it very much!
