Mariko brought back a few omiyage (souvenirs/gifts) from Japan for me, including this book by one of my favorite illustrators. Blue by Nakamura Yusuke is full of amazing drawings… I love it. And it is interesting because I told Mariko that I wanted a book of his, and one of Mariko’s friends (who is also a fantastic illustrator) is actually good friends with Nakamura-san! I had actually sent Mariko a link to a different book, but her friend recommended Blue instead. I’m so happy! It’s wonderful.
Another goodie that she brought back was this pack of gum, which is supposed to help with your memory. 😆 Let’s hope it works.

Lastly, is this mayonnaise, which is supposed to be fantastic. It’s not for me specifically, but I thought it was pretty cool.

I hope you had a nice day!

Hi there! Just a couple of snapshots today… the first is of a new microphone I bought for recording Koa’s percussion concerts. It’s an inexpensive shotgun microphone which plugs into our Fujifilm X-T10. I only tried it out to see if it works so I don’t know the quality, but it should be an improvement over the camera’s built-in mic.

The second photo is of Yuzu, relaxing on the toast pillow by the ol’ printer. ☺
In other news, I’m going to shoot more using the 16:9 aspect ratio. Years ago when I started building websites, I was really into wide-format imagery. I still find it attractive, so I’ll be taking more photos using it.
I hope you had a great day!

This afternoon I watched The 8-Year Engagement 8年越しの花嫁 奇跡の実話 starring one of my favorite actresses, Tao Tsuchiya. I enjoyed it a lot, but I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t as much of a tear-jerker as I thought it would be. But the acting by both Tsuchiya and Sato Takeru was good enough to get them nominated for the Japan Academy awards for best actress and actor.
Later that evening, I made gyoza and spinach, while Bay prepared poké bowls using poké from Costco. It was delicious! Always try to eat well. 😊

I hope you had a good day!

こんばんは。How’s it going?
I don’t know if it’s because he is going to college soon and wants to practice cooking, or if he’s just sick of my cooking, but Bay made dinner for us tonight. The chicken parmesan sandwiches were yummy! I approve! And because he did the cooking, I did the dishes, which he has pretty much taken over as one of his chores.
Here’s the video that he followed for the dinner:
I’m going to miss Bay when he leaves for college, so I’ll cherish these days when he’s still at home. 😀
Enjoy the photos!
