New Roof

Today we had a new roof put onto our house. The roofing crew started at about 7:15 am, and finishes at 4 pm. What an operation! It was loud as heck, and coupled with Lani’s constant barking, my ears hurt. I didn’t do my morning co-working stream on Twitch because it was so disruptive.

But I am glad the original 17-year old roof has been replaced. Insurance will cover the cost of it (minus deductible) because there was so much hail damage. And this roof has some crazy warranty… something like 30 or 50 years!

Anyways, now I have to find someone to clean up the temporary hole damage that the raccoons made. There’s always something… 😅

Regular readers of the blog will have noticed that I am posting a lot about my new bicycle. I absolutely love it, though! I think Bromptons are just odd, funky bikes. I’ve got some plans forming to go on a bike tour with it in 2023. Hopefully I can squeeze it into what should be a busy year of traveling.

Nice Running Trail

Today’s running route took me on a small part of the high school cross-country trail. It’s a really nice section! When I ran cross-country in high school back in the 80s, we always ran on concrete, except for races. So I’m envious of the local cross-country athletes that have this type of trail. It’s awesome.
