“Emergency Lights” Cedar Park, 2020

I was making dinner in the kitchen when I noticed some flashing lights coming from the front window. There was a fire truck outside, which means there must be trouble. It turned out that it was a false alarm caused by a home fire detector (we think) that sent a call to the fire station. So, everything’s okay. Thankfully!

“A Burger” Cedar Park, 2020

Tonight it’s just Koa and I so I made cheeseburgers for us (his request). Excuse the crude photo, but whatever. The burgers were excellent! I added a bit of Japanese Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard to the beef before making the patties. Juicy, tangy, and yummy. Hard to beat a good burger!

Weathering With You / 天気の子 (2019) – Movie Mini-Review

Loved this! Weathering With You is *almost* as good as Your Name, but I think I need to watch it again just to be sure. 😊 The storyline was fun and combines fantasy and reality in an original way, and seems timely considering the changes in the climate.

“Beautiful Background” Austin, 2019

Just like in Your Name, the background artwork is amazing. Some of the scenes with cloud-scapes are breathtaking! But what I really enjoyed about Weathering With You was that there was a bit more action, which was refreshing for a Makoto Shinkai film. I’m still in love with the Honda Super Cub, so seeing chase scene involving one was awesome. ❤️

“Supercub Scene” Austin, 2019

Although Weathering With You didn’t have as many moments as Your Name that gave me “the feels”, I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were a few laugh-out-loud moments as well, so I’d say it’s a very well-rounded movie. It’s got a bit of everything: artwork, story, romance, action, and humor. It’s definitely a movie I’d like to watch several times. Highly recommended!

Google Opinion Rewards Loot

“Digital Download” Cedar Park, 2020

I’ve been using the Google Opinion Rewards app where you answer a few questions (and perhaps give up a little privacy) for several months now, earning between ten to fifty cents per mini-survey. The credit earned can be used in the Google Play store on apps, books, music, or movies, and I was about a dollar away from purchasing a Ghibli movie. However, I found the fantastic The Night is Short, Walk on Girl for $9.99 so quickly snatched it up. It looks great on the iPad and I’m sure it’ll be amazing on the tv as well.

I’m happy that I actually found something worthwhile to buy in the Play store. I was getting worried that all the questions I’ve answered for Google would be wasted due to lack of things I want to buy.

FYI, you can use the app on iOS as well!
