こんばんは。Tonight’s sketch. Nothing much to say about it, but it’s good practice. The version below is the earlier version.
To see all the sketches I’ve been working on, you can check out the Flickr album “My Sketching Journey”, or my Instagram account barron.sketches which I created just for posting sketches, watercolors, and stationery items.
I hope you had a nice day!

こんばんは。How’s it going?
Today I received a beautiful bottle of beautiful ink. I have tried a few different sample inks, and I found myself going back to the Iroshizuku Ama-iro sky blue in a few pens. Consequently, I ran out of it quickly. So, I knew I wanted to get a bottle of the ink, but the question was if I should get the smaller 15ml or larger 50ml size.
It was a pretty easy decision to go with the 50ml bottle for a couple of reasons. First, I like to use medium and broad nib pens, and they put down a lot of ink. Secondly, the price difference was not that big. And lastly, the Isoshizuku 50ml bottles are beautiful!
So now I have Ama-iro loaded in 3 of two of my pens, and I am set for a while. 🙂
I realized that I didn’t take a recent photo of the actual ink, but here’s a google search that shows how pretty it is.

Tonight a couple good friends came over for dinner and a movie. But not any movie! It was Cult of Chucky, the horror movie starring the creepy doll from the ’80s. 😱
I really hate scary movies, so I only watched a little bit. I’d say this one is less scary, but more gory… lots of blood and killing. My wife and friends enjoyed it quite a bit, but I just can’t watch. So when the killing started (even though it is very over-the-top) I had to leave the room. I’m such a wimp. 😅
Anyways, dinner was delicious and our friends brought over some homemade cornbread! Fun food and a fun evening! 😀

🐱 I didn’t do much today! But I did finish a book called Out of Sorts. It was a fun, light read. Enjoyed it quite a bit! Enough so that I decided to buy another one of author Aurélie Valognes’ other books, Will You Ever Change.
I enjoy reading a lot, but can’t read for very long because I end up falling asleep no matter how good the book is. If you are are interested, here’s a list of the books I’ve read so far this year.

Today we had a nice brunch at a newly opened restaurant called “The Grove”. It’s a wine bar, but they have really yummy food as well. I ordered a dish named “Avocado Seduction” which is a really fancy avocado toast, while my wife ordered the “Crab Cake Benedict” which has egg, Hollandaise sauce, and spinach over crab cakes. We shared the food, but while transferring one of the crab cakes to my plate, my wife dropped it upside down. Luckily it landed on the plate, with yolk intact. But then when she tried to scoop up the yolk, it broke and made a mess. 😤
“It still tastes the same,” she said. Which is true, but I had to give her a hard time for doing that. 😤
