I’m currently in Los Angeles visiting family, but next week, my son and I are hitting the road back to Texas, with a car full of his belongings from his semester in California.

A dramatic thunderstorm rolled through this evening, and I was lucky enough to capture a beautiful shot. The clouds were incredible, and it was amazing to see some birds taking flight against that backdrop. There were also plenty of lightning strikes lighting up the clouds. It was pretty cool!
I’ve been wanting a nice desk tray to organize my pens, and while I found a few wooden ones online, they were a bit too pricey. So, I decided to look around the house to see if I could find a temporary solution. I ended up repurposing the cardboard box my eyeglasses came in, which works for now until I find something better.
My son and I are currently watching season 2 of Andor. While we’re enjoying it overall, some of the storylines aren’t holding our attention as much. There seem to be a disproportionate number of dinner parties and wedding scenes. In fact, I joked that someone could probably create a super-cut of Mon Mothma simply fast-walking through these social events, and it would amount to hours of footage.
