Tonight’s dinner was yakiniku with Japanese wagyu beef, sliced pork belly, sausage, mushrooms, cheese, and homegrown nasubi and jalapeño peppers. The beef was amazing, and the peppers were off-the-chart spicy! We also had some store-bought peppers which were very mild, thankfully.

I love spicy food, but these peppers were almost too much. I’d say these were almost as hot as habaneros! 🔥🌶 I loved them though. 😂

Yakiniku must be one of the top meals for meat-eaters. Grilling right at the table is such a treat! In addition to the beef, pork belly, and sausage, we had mozzarella cheese, haloumi cheese, onion, kimchee, salad, and Sigeumchi-namul (spinach). So yummy!

Curry Take-Out

I made it to my parents’ house, where I will stay a week. I’m not technically on vacation since I will be working, but I’m so happy to be here! My parents and I are fully vaccinated so it’s pretty safe to visit according the the CDC guidelines.

After arriving in Torrance and having a beer, we ordered take-out from CoCo Ichibanya and feasted! I had my level-10 curry of course. It was very spicy, but not as spicy as previous visits. Still, very, very good. I’m satisfied. 😊🍛❤
