Never was into Batman. I’m not a huge fan of the superhero genre, but Batman in particular holds no interest for me.

And while I’m at it, I don’t particularly like Joy Division, which seems like a band I’d be into. But ever since I first listened to them in the 80s, I’ve never liked them. Just recently I did give Unknown Pleasures and Closer a full listen/second chance, but yeah, no. I think it’s Ian Curtis’ voice, since I love New Order.

Let’s see, what else… I don’t like barbecue sauce. Dango is something that looks delicious but always disappoints. Not a big fan of pasta – instead of spaghetti and meatballs, I’d rather have a meatball sandwich.

Some Good News

A couple of weeks ago I visited my eye doctor for my yearly check-up and prescription update, and I took a new test which was meant to identify the signs of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Well, I failed the test, and coupled with some of the imaging of my eyes, raised some concerns that I was developing AMD. It’s not an uncommon condition, but it is not seen in someone my age very often.

So, today we took some more tests and… my eyes passed the test with flying colors! Whew! There’s no sign of AMD at this point. I’m so relieved… the uncertainty was weighing on me a bit for these two weeks, and now that weight is lifted.

And how fortunate that tonight we planned to meet our good friends for beer and pizza! They didn’t know about my AMD concern, but inside I was celebrating. 😊

Whenever I see Altostratus or Cirrocumulus clouds, I always think they look like the cheese on the pizza that they served at the little league baseball fields near our house when I was growing up. It’s just one of those things that triggers distant memories. And makes me hungry for pizza. 😆

I’ve loved the design of the Subaru XV Crosstrek ever since I first saw it years ago, and since I’ve bought one, I love it even more. It seems I’m not the only one who does, as there are plenty of Crosstreks on the road here in Austin.

This photo was taken in the parking lot at BookPeople/REI (my Crosstrek is the blue one in the background). After dropping off Koa at rehearsal, I’ll often browse the camping gear and then read while sipping a coffee at the bookstore. Always a relaxing evening. 😊
