I had a strong craving for some sushi, so I visited Uroko for lunch today. The hamachi temaki is so good!!!
We bought some tuna from yesterday’s tuna breakdown and enjoyed a nice sushi dinner at home this evening. We just used regular steamed rice instead of sushi rice, but it was still yummy. The fish is amazing.
Today we got to see the tail-end of a tuna breakdown. I was a little bummed we didn’t get to see the whole tuna, but we did get to eat maguro temaki, and then toro! And it is World Saké Day as well, so we enjoyed a couple of different types.
Tonight we went to a soft-opening of our friends’ omakase sushi expansion space called Tonari. The sushi was amazing, and the space is nice and cozy. What’s really cool is that there are tables for upcoming classes, such as pottery, food, and flower arranging.
What sets their omakase apart from other restaurants is that it is a 45-minute omakase, at a more affordable price point. So it’s perfect for a quick but memorable dinner before heading out to a show or night downtown.
Can recommend!!!
