Tonight we celebrated a friend’s birthday with a wine and sushi pairing party. One of our friends is a sommelier and his daughter is an event planner, so everything was beautifully organized. To top it off, the guest of honor’s husband is a sushi chef, which meant the food was incredible. I picked up a few new things about wine and left with a very full belly. Such a fun and special evening!

Yes, today we opened a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau to enjoy with dinner. It’s nice to celebrate Beaujolais Day, which is on the third Thursday of November! The wine is fruity and light, and while I prefer a cabernet or pinot noir, this fresh wine is enjoyable and fun. I look forward to it every year. 😆
