“Baguettes” Cedar Park, 2022
♥️🥖
daily slice-of-life photo blog of a Gen-X dad

For the second night in a row, I have enjoyed some leftovers that Mariko brought home from a friend’s party. The Chinese dishes are from Bamboo House Austin 竹苑 and are so good! I love the cumin beef… it’s similar to toothpick cumin lamb, but many people don’t like lamb, so this is a good option.
I also recommend the spicy fish (not pictured), which has a good amount of heat and Sichuan pepper for that mala flavor. It’s great if you like spicy food!

I started watching Long Way Up, which is the third series of motorcycle journeys from Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor. The first series, Long Way Round, was one of the reasons why I got into motorcycling. Very good!
Also very good, was my veggie burger on homemade country bread, and seasoned fries (frozen).
A very nice evening.

A new Thai restaurant named Lemongrass opened recently near us, and I saw that you can choose the spiciness level from 1-10. This got me excited because with a scale like that, it must mean they are serious about the level of heat, right? And since CoCo Ichibanya also has a 1-10 scale, it would be fun to compare.
With that in mind, I went ahead and ordered a level 10 Panang Curry, and Bay ordered a level Green Curry. Both were delicious! But, I am sorry to report that the spiciness level was a bit too mild for me. The level 10 was probably equal to a 5 or 6 at CoCo. 😒
Oh well, the curries were really good, nonetheless, and the rest of the menu looks great as well. I can’t wait to try more dishes from Lemongrass!

I love snacking on homemade baguettes and this vegan butter spread from Miyoko’s Creamery. It’s delicious!
