I spent my Saturday evening glued to the TV, enjoying a lineup that included The Marvels, Jimmy O. Yang’s comedy specials, and Star Wars: Tales of the Empire. It was a rare treat for me and a lot of fun. While I enjoyed all the shows, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) was particularly entertaining and really stole the show in The Marvels.

We celebrated an early Father’s Day dinner at Kane, an upscale sushi restaurant near our home. It was our first visit, and we had heard great things, so we were both excited. We ordered two sushi rolls and uni pasta, and everything was delicious! Although the restaurant is reservation-only, we managed to slip in at 5 PM — lucky us! Our verdict: the food is delicious and fancy, but a bit on the expensive side.

I wanted to ride my motorcycle for longer distances, but I always worry about getting a flat far from home. This happened to me once before, and I couldn’t change the rear tube by myself. That rear tire is just a pain to get off the rim!

So, I bought a cast rear wheel to make repairing a puncture much easier. With most spoked rims, you need to use an inner tube inside the tire. To fix or replace the inner tube if you get a puncture, you have to remove the wheel from the bike and then the tire from the wheel. But with a cast rim, you can go tubeless and simply plug a small puncture using a plug kit without needing to remove the wheel from the bike.

Luckily, I found a cast rear wheel on eBay for only $120 (they go for about $1,200 new)! I’d love to find a front wheel as well, but honestly, the rear was more important because changing the tube on the front tire is much easier and requires less strength.

I spent my lunch break with Piplup, riding along the local hike and bike trail. It was such a relaxing activity. I love weekday lunch rides because the trail isn’t crowded, and everyone sharing it has more in common, leading to more friendly waves. 😄
