I went for a lunchtime bicycle ride with Sophie to the hike and bike trail. It wasn’t too crowded today, even though the schools are still out for break. One the one hand, it’s nice because there’s less weaving around families and dogs, but on the other hand, the e-bike riders tend to go as fast as they can. ☹️
Happy New Year! (again) Today we had several friends over to celebrate the new year. One of the drinks we enjoyed was a Foo Fighters Saké. It was pretty good!
The party started at about noon and ended around 4 pm. Most people have to work the next day, including myself, so it was nice to end early, relax, and recharge for the start of the work week.

Happy New Year! We started 2023 off with a delicious osechi brunch. Mariko and her friends prepared everything here, with my contribution being the roast beef. All the dishes were yummy!
These past two weeks have been filled with a lot of yummy foods and plenty of dessert, so I need to get back into my exercise routine quickly. With that in mind, I went for a long run this afternoon and completed my monthly half-marathon challenge in Strava. I struggled a little bit and walked a couple of times, but it wasn’t too bad. I’m really looking forward to a nice year of running!
We enjoyed our New Year’s Eve soba tonight, but this year it was matcha soba. So yummy! Could eat this every day. 😀
We enjoyed watching the 73rd Kōhaku Uta Gassen this evening. The highlight for me were Aimyon, Twice, Uta from the One Piece Red movie, and Hoshino Gen singing Kigeki from Spy x Family. I am learning that on the ukulele, so this is motivation to practice it a bit more. 😀
