Have you seen the bats fly from the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin? It’s pretty cool! Bay and I were downtown for an event and before we left to return home, we walked over to the bridge where a crowd of people had gathered. I thought it was too early in the season for the bats to fly, but I was wrong!
A few minutes after sunset, they took off to search for their daily meal of mosquitos and other insects. It was a cool sight! It’s my first time to stand on the bridge and watch the bats. I’ve previously seen them while sitting below bridge-level at the Statesman lawn, which is another cool angle because you see the bats set in front of the sky. But the bridge angle is nice too because of the view of the city, the water, and then you can follow the line of bats as they fly off into the distance.
The video I took is a bit blurry, but you can make out the bats as they fly into the night. Enjoy!

こんばんは。How’s it going?
I started running again, and today I ran for the third time in a week and a half. I hadn’t run for a year or so, so my legs were so sore!
But it’s a good soreness… not painful, but the type of soreness that shows that you made a good effort.
Usually, when I start running again, I can begin increasing my distance after about 3 or 4 runs and recovery, so I anticipate getting back on track this week. But, since I am almost 50, it’s only natural that it could take longer. (I can’t believe I am getting close to 50!)
