When Mariko goes out to eat with her friends, I look forward to the leftovers that get brought home. They are usually delicious. But today she returned with a small box of raw veggies. I had to laugh.
But they were actually pretty good. I not fond of raw radishes, but these were actually pretty good. :)
Tonight we made takoyaki for dinner. One batch was with octopus, another had sausage, and the third had sausage and cheese. They were all yummy.
Here are two of my favorites from my son’s birthday dinner. The sake toro and pork belly nigiri were amazing! Definitely on my list to order again the next time we visit.
We brought back a bottle of Kohala brand kimchee from Maui and tried it this evening. It had a very mild taste and a more yellow color, but still had plenty of heat. Not bad, but I prefer a more flavorful, more fermented kimchee. I suppose this one might be a good kimchee to introduce to a newbie though!
In today’s photo, Mariko is nearing the end of her pizza class, so I am hovering in the kitchen ready to dig in!
