Today, I completed the safety inspection for my car. I vaguely recall hearing about Texas possibly discontinuing safety inspections, though I might be mistaken. If it turns out to be true, it could mean the closure of all these inspection stations. While it’s unfortunate for the business owners, it would be a positive change for us drivers!

Carrying on the tradition of bringing home beer from distant travels, Mariko gifted me a can of Kirin. It was delicious!! The classic design is so beautiful.
Tonight, Mariko and a friend teamed up online to create a scrumptious Indian feast. It easily ranks among the finest Indian dishes I’ve ever eaten, and remarkably, they are also very nutritious! The standout was undoubtedly the beet dish… feeling thankful that my wife has such amazing culinary skills. 😄
We went to see the Creek Show downtown this evening. It’s a series of illuminated art installations along Waller Creek. Very cool, and free! The weather was very nice and it was fun to hang out with friends. The only thing missing was food and drink, but I’m sure we’ll make up for that in the future!
Sometimes I wish I could be a cat for a day or two… I think I’d spend the whole day jumping up onto tables and counters and being silly. And maybe stay up all night with my superior night-vision. 😼
I had to satisfy an intense craving for ramyun at lunchtime, so I took out the special ramyun pot and got to work. I added egg of course, but totally blew it and forgot to add cheese. What a missed opportunity! Never again.
However, the hot noodles and spicy broth, mixed with the runny egg yolk really hit the spot. And the ramyun pot made it taste about 5% better than using a regular pot.
Despite the recent rain, I was able to go for a run today. The weather was in the 50s, which is chilly for me, so I had to wear my old leggings. I’m definitely not a fan of cold weather! 😆
In other running news, my current On Running shoes have over 500 miles on them so I need to think about switching over to some new ones. Luckily REI had their semi-annual 20%-off sale for members so I ordered a new pair of Cloudgo shoes. They should arrive soon and I’ll wait until I put another 100 miles on my current shoes before switching. I think the “experts” recommend about 400-500 miles, but since I’m on the smaller side, I think an extra hundred or two will be okay. Right? 😀
