“Afternoon Light” Cedar Park, 2021

We were eating dinner tonight, and the sunlight was streaming in on Koa and I. Koa mentioned that the light suddenly appeared… meaning that on the day before, there wasn’t anything like today’s direct light. It is almost as if someone cut a tree down to reveal a new lighting pattern… But no, the trees are still the same. It’s just one of those miracles of nature, I suppose.

New Car

“Car Technology” Austin, 2021

After 13 years of driving her red Toyota Prius, Mariko is finally getting a new car! It’s not electric, nor a hybrid, but the technology in the cabin of her Audi is very cool. We even had a technology orientation session at the dealership. 😀

Her Prius, which is still going strong and getting a solid 44 mpg will go to Bay to use down in Houston. I’m hoping it lasts at least a few more years. What an amazing car it has been. 🙏🚗

“Rain Ahead” Texas, 2021

For today’s portion of the drive home, I got out the GoPro Hero9 Black to record a “TimeWarp” video. I was treated to a little bit of rain and a good variety of clouds which made the drive a little bit more interesting. Please enjoy the video!

Jamaican Dinner

“Escovitch Fish” Torrance, 2021

My mom made a Jamaican feast for us this evening, and the star of the menu (for me, at least) was an amazing Escovitch Snapper. It was pan-fried whole, and then covered with a yummy, vinegary sauce. So delicious! Of course we had some other Jamaican staples, such as Jerk pork, stew peas, and plantain, but the fish was what I will remember most. 🐟❤🇯🇲
