A couple of days ago I mentioned that pizza is one of our comfort foods. Well, tonight we had another favorite – Japanese curry! This one was a classic mix of beef, carrots, and potatoes. I think there’s enough left for two more family meals, which is always a win. It’s the best!

These pretty rolls are part of a new recipe Mariko’s been working on. She says they still need a little tweaking, but even these “test versions” were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to taste the final perfected batch!

Tonight we enjoyed a delicious homemade pizza from Mariko, topped with pepperoni, onions, and anchovies. It’s one of our ultimate comfort foods and always hits the spot!
Today we went to try a new hot pot spot for lunch. Soupleaf has been around for a while, but we’d never checked it out until a friend said we really should. I was excited to see what the hype was about! The best part is that everyone gets their own little hot pot and can pick their favorite broth. The only tricky part is that it’s not as easy to share and taste all the different flavors.
The meat selection was great, and the seafood, veggie, and noodle bar was packed with good stuff. We definitely ate our fill. So satisfying!
I spent an hour at the café catching up on my blog today. I was planning to go to a coffee shop, but Mariko suggested I try La Madeleineis, a cozy French bistro. What a great idea! I ordered a coffee and was so tempted by all the delicious-looking savory pastries, but I managed to resist this time. Next time, I might not be so strong!

We had a delicious grilled saba (mackerel) dinner tonight! To keep the house from smelling like fish, we fired up our little portable stove outside. This handy stove runs on a small fuel canister and is the same one we use for yakiniku right at the dinner table. We’ve even taken it camping! It’s one of those gadgets that just makes everything easier, and dinner a lot more fun.

Today I stopped by H-Mart to pick up a few beverages connected to my stream. The Chilsung Cider was a random pick at the izakaya, the Boss Coffee ties in with the “Boss” command, and the banana drink was recommended by one of the chatters. I’m excited to try them all! Though… maybe not during the stream!
