Tonight’s dinner: Loco Moco. This Hawaiian dish usually has a thicker brown gravy on top, but Mariko decided to make a thinner Japanese-style hamburg-steak sauce. I heard it was delicious… We had a leftover hamburger from yesterday’s barbecue, so I finished that up. Not complaining! (Maybe a little) 😆

Hope you had a nice day!

I’m seeing many more photos on Instagram and Twitter of people’s homemade bread since the stay-at-home lifestyle has begun, and it’s awesome! Of course, I have to post some of Mariko’s bread too since it’s the best. This one is a sourdough loaf (my favorite), but she also made malasadas today for the first time. They were delicious!

It’s a good thing that I love to eat sandwiches because we have so much delicious bread… I just can’t get enough of it. Yay for bakers! 🍞 🥐

Extra-Crispy Karaage

For dinner, Mariko made our family-favorite karaage. The “JFC” (Japanese fried chicken) was extra-crispy this time because she left some of the skin on the pieces of chicken thigh. It was awesome! As usual, Koa liked his karaage with a bit of lemon, while Bay ate his with some Kewpie mayo. I alternated between both. ☺️

I hope you had a nice day!

I made a big batch of chili and we used it for chili dogs. Unfortunately, Koa’s dog experienced a roll-over, which I imagine is not an uncommon occurrence. Still, I had to capture it on “film” for posterity. 😆

I hope you had a good day!
