Tonight I rode my motorbike 🏍 around the neighborhood and stopped by the gas station. ⛽ For some reason, I thought the fuel tank was almost empty but when I filled up, it only took .6 gallons and the gas was right at the opening. I’m not sure how I got confused by it.

But whatever. I then rode around some more, which is totally fun at night, but it’s also very dangerous in this part of Texas because there are so many deer that come out in the evening. So it’s important to have a finger or two around the brake lever when going past the forests.

I love my bike so much. It’s so nimble and easy to ride. It’s relatively small as far as dual-sport bikes go, but for a little guy like me, the F650 GS is pretty heavy. All that weight disappears like magic though once you are moving. Riding a motorcycle is so liberating… you feel so free. In reality, you are going the same speed and places as cars but since you are not trapped inside a steel cage, it feels like you are flying. A truly incredible feeling. I love it!!! 💖

This video for the Yamaha SR400 is one of my favorites. It’s a little cheesy, but it kind of gets at what is great about riding a motorbike.

I hope you had a nice Friday!

こんばんは!How’s it going?

Tonight we bought park tickets for our upcoming Disney World trip! We’ll have two full days visiting the parks and we’ve decided to go to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Initially, I was disappointed to not be visiting the Magic Kingdom… I mean, it’s the classic park! But we’ve gone to it many times (and I’d count Disneyland with it since they are so similar), and the more I thought about it, the more I think it would be better to spend our limited time in a location-specific park. For instance, if I had to choose between visiting Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, I’d have to choose the latter. Still, I’ll miss visiting Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and all the classic rides…

Anyways, one attraction we wanted to check out is the new Frozen Ever After ride in EPCOT’s Norway area. It used to be a very unpopular ride called Maelstrom, where you traveled back to the time of the Vikings, but then also ended up alongside huge, modern tankers. I actually thought it was a fun ride! I’ll let you all know if Frozen Ever After is better. 😜

We tried to get our FastPass+ for Frozen Ever After, but they were unavailable. 😩 So I guess we’ll just head there as soon as the park opens. I’m hoping it won’t be too bad a line, but we’ll probably be so excited it won’t matter. FYI, we got FastPasses for Test Track and Toy Story Mania the following day.

After writing this post, I’m pretty fired up about the Disney trip. Can’t wait!

Today I stayed home and worked –I still don’t feel so great so I took it easy. Of course, I’m busy busy busy with work, but at least I could be more comfortable and wear pajamas all day. 😄 Hooray for loungewear.

Today’s photo is of the sky getting lighter as dawn breaks. It looks pretty cool, doesn’t it? Nature is amazing.

こんばんは!How’s it going?

I had a rough day today. It started out fine, but after I got to work, I started to feel ill – my whole body was achy and I felt the chills. 😩 So at around 10 AM I headed home to rest.

I mentioned in another post that I have trouble regulating my temperature, and today was no different. The chills had me shivering, and I tried to warm up by staying next to the space heater, but inside my body I was still cold. So… I made a bowl of instant ramen with egg and voila! I was warm again. 😌 It’s a little sad looking, this bowl of noodles, but it really made me feel better.

After that, I was able to do a little work before I started feeling awful again, so I laid down and watched some TV for a bit. I promised my son to take him to see a gym he is interested in going to so I wanted to at least have enough energy to make it through that.

That evening outing to the gym actually felt pretty good, so when we returned home I was able to eat a delicious meal with my family, which is the photo at the top of the post.

And now I really need to sleep… hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow.

Take care of yourselves!

こんばんは!How’s it going?

Tonight we hosted Kaiju Nite 7 at our house. It’s a get together we have with a few friends in which we watch Japanese kaiju, or “strange beast”, movies. Our first Kaiju Nite back in 2014 featured Godzilla movies, and tonight’s double-feature was Daimajin and Daimajin Strikes Back.

These movies were a bit different than the “normal” kaiju movies because they are set back in old feudal Japan instead of modern times. Also, the kaiju “Daimajin” mainly appears in animated form during only the last 15 or 20 minutes of the movie.

I was impressed by the quality of these films, which were released in 1966. The cinematography was really cool, with interesting camera angles and the special effects were great. The plot was very basic but still a lot of fun!

As usual, Mikey chose the movies, provided some background to each of the movies, and even brought some toys. And of course we had plenty to eat and drink before and during the movies. 🍴

It was a fun evening, and I am looking forward to Kaiju Nite 8. 😄

Felt Sleeves

こんばんは!How’s it going?

Today’s photo is of a couple of sleeves I have been using for my Chromebook and Kindle and absolutely love. They are both made from a really soft felt material which hardly weigh anything, but they are thick enough to provide some nice protection from shock and scratches. The laptop sleeve has slots on the back which will accommodate a Kindle and a cellphone, although it does add some bulk. Both of them have small slots for business card sized items. I keep some Instax prints in there.

Each one cost only about $10 and come in either light or charcoal grey and I opted for one of each color for a little variety. 😄

I probably didn’t need the laptop sleeve since I keep it safe in my messenger bag and the screen is protected, but I liked the Kindle sleeve so much that I had to have the larger sleeve as well.

I hope you had a nice day!
