One of my favorite Japanese actress is Hirose Suzu 広瀬すず and she has gotten very popular these days, appearing in many acting roles. I mentioned that she is starring in the current asadora Natsuzora なつぞら, but the Chihayafuru series of movies are also popular and good, and I thought she was great in Anone あのね and Your Lie in April 四月は君の嘘.
Tonight she was on LINE Live, which is a livestream on the LINE platform. This “volume” was about her sponsorship for Crocs, and one of the fun things was that she was giving away was a pair of signed sandals. To enter, you just need to comment on the livestream, so of course I did post a “Hello from Texas!”. But I still haven’t heard back with the notification that I won… 😆
I hope you had a nice day!

こんばんは。I don’t have a photo to share for this post, but I did finish a drawing on the iPad using Procreate.
I might sound like a broken record, but I really enjoy sketching on the iPad. I’m getting more comfortable, and am able to work quicker, and with greater precision. Of course, the more I learn, the more I realize I have a long ways to go! But progress is encouraging, and I have a lot of fun with minimal frustration. Very satisfied!
To see all the sketches I’ve been working on, you can check out the Flickr album “My Sketching Journey”, or my Instagram account barron.sketches which I created just for posting sketches, watercolors, and stationery items.
If you’re interested in my favorite sketching gear that I use, you can find a list here.

こんばんは。This evening a friend came over for dinner and I think the one who was most excited to have a guest over was Lani. She always gets extra treats, so it’s understandable. 😊 It was funny that when Lani recognized who was at the door, she went nuts and did a few laps around the house in excitement. She’s so funny.
Tonight’s menu included burgers and sliders, homemade fries, and a couple of yummy and fancy salads. And Mariko baked some fresh buns for the burgers so it was extra-good!

I hope you had a nice day!

A severe storm rolled through our part of Texas today. Luckily, there wasn’t any damage to our house, just plenty of rain and anxiety!
Later on in the evening we enjoyed a yummy pot of chankonabe ゃんこ鍋. This is a hotpot that is popular with sumo wrestlers because it helps to bulk them up. We’ve never made it at home before, so this was a special treat. 😄

As the day ended, the skies cleared and we were treated to a nice sunset.

I hope you had a good day!
