“Curries” Cedar Park, 2025
We were treated to a delicious Indian feast by our guests this evening. I was particularly inspired by their beautiful food presentation and pretty much tried to copy as best as I could.

I’m so excited about a Scotch Bonnet hot sauce I pureed! It’s currently sitting in a mason jar, just waiting for the day I can finally use it. I sampled a tiny bit, and the heat is intense! I’m currently avoiding spicy foods due to a skin condition, but the moment I’m able to, I’m going to spice things up with this sauce.

Our friend, an amazing cook in town to teach some classes, made us a delicious gluten-free pasta with lobster tonight. It was incredible! Even Anko wanted a taste of the lobster.

Mariko has been on my case about my habit of bringing home tea from hotels. We have so much tea! So, I’ve been making a pot or two a day and keeping it on my desk while I work. I’m loving it! I’m not sure how close we are to finishing it all, but I’d guess we still have a ton left.

We took our houseguests to Rudy’s this evening for some BBQ. While it may not be as celebrated as Austin’s barbecue giants like Franklin, Interstellar, or Blacks, Rudy’s delivers consistently solid BBQ, and the best part? No waiting! The fatty brisket, baby-back ribs, and jalapeño sausage were a hit with everyone.
