こんばんは。How’s it going?

Tonight’s photo is of “chili-gohan” which is chili over rice, with an egg on top. I guess “tamago” should be in the name of this dish, but oh well. The chili is a veggie chili that Mariko made, and the egg was from one of my coworker’s chickens. Fresh eggs are so yummy!

But tonight’s post is about “Koa-style” food which is basically whatever is in the bowl all mixed up. As you can see in the photo, the chili, rice, and egg are all mixed together. Koa does this with so many dishes, including curry rice, rice and beans, and oyako-don. I believe that one day he’ll grow out of this practice, but for now, it’s just his way. 😝

I bought a new ukulele! It’s a Kala soprano pineapple KA-P and it is wonderful! It sounds great and the smaller fretboard fits my hands nicely.

I’ve been getting into playing my concert-sized ukulele and added a low-g to it so I can play a few songs that require that lower octave. But that meant I couldn’t practice songs that have the high-g arrangement. So, of course, I had to get a second ukulele, right? 😝

The soprano is the traditional size for a ukulele, and the pineapple shape is also a classic look. What I really love about the Kala is that it has cream-colored binding around the body which gives it a clean look and accentuates the pineapple shape. Pair that with the included white Aquila Nylgut strings, and you have a great-looking ukulele!

こんばんは。How’s it going?

Today we made a couple updates to our pet life. First, I bought three green tiger barbs and two albino tiger barbs to add to our three regular tiger barbs. With these aggressive fish, you need to keep at least five or so since one of the fish will become a bully and chase the others. If there are only a couple fish, the ones being chased get too tired, so it’s best spread out the chasing amongst several fish. Anyway, the green and albino barbs look really pretty, and I think everyone is getting along much better! 😀

The next update was that we bought a large cat tree for our kitties! It’s pretty great and the cats love it. We’re happy that Anko, who is the less-athletic of the two is comfortable climbing up to the top perch. They seem to enjoy it!

So, I bought a couple more fountain pens – the Jinhao 993 Shark in green and blue! Aren’t they cool? I’m going to use them at work, with Iroshizuku Ama-iro and Chiku-rin inks. I love them! What is nice about these pens is that not only are they dirt cheap, but they come with converters which makes refilling with ink super easy.

Highly recommended as a fun, beginner fountain pen. Enjoy!
